From Tacoma, WA, Vashon and Maury Islands are a 15 minute ferry ride away but you feel like you're in another world once you're there. It's quite, beautiful, and serene. The wild flowers and birds still own the space. This plein air piece was painted on a hot August morning. The wildfire smoke had started to settle in the region giving the light a warm hazy stillness. Acrylic on wood panel.
